Dhamtari, 12 August (HS). On the fourth Monday of the month of Sawan, 12 August, a continuous stream of faith and devotion started flowing in the Shiva temples. People prayed to Lord Bholenath and wished for the well-being of their families and the welfare of the people. Bhajans were sung in the temples. Shiva devotees were seen dancing to the Shiva bhajans.
Lord Shiva is easily pleased by offering water to the Shivling on Sawan Monday. The month of Sawan is very special for Shiva devotees. Worshiping Lord Shiva in this month brings the most auspicious results. It is believed that measures are taken to fulfill different wishes in Sawan. On this day, Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva and decoration of Shivling is done. There was no rain on the third Monday of Sawan month.
Kanwar Yatra was carried out through Bol Bam Kanwaria Kalyan Sangh. Devotees had reached since morning to collect water from Rudri Mahanadi. After bathing, performing Aarti of Mahanadi, Kanwariyas left for their destination with water in Kanwar. They reached Vindhyavasini Temple via the main roads. From here, chanting the slogan Bol Bam, they reached Ghadi Chowk. After this, Kanwariyas offered water at Nageshwar Temple, Batukeshwar Temple and finally reached Budheshwar Temple. Children, old people, women, all were seen immersed in the devotion of Bhole. They arrived while touring the city. Kanwariyas were welcomed at Nageshwar Mahadev Temple. Milk and bananas were distributed as prasadi. A large number of Shiva devotees were present on this occasion.
