Dehradun, August 12 (HS). Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Ajendra Ajay has expressed serious concern over the attacks on Hindu temples and Hindus in Bangladesh. He said that the temple committee will perform special prayers on Tuesday (August 13) in the major temples under its control, including Badri-Kedar, to pray for the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh.
BKTC President Ajendra Ajay said that in the neighboring country Bangladesh, rioters have taken over and law and order has become completely ineffective. In this chaotic situation, the Hindu community there is being harassed on a large scale. Hindus are being attacked. Religious places, business establishments and houses of Hindu minorities are being damaged.
He said that as a result of continuous riots, the Hindu population in Bangladesh, which was 32 percent at the time of partition, has now decreased to only 8 percent. Due to the current developments, the Hindus who are left are also becoming victims of continuous persecution. He said that to pray for the safety of the Hindus of Bangladesh and to give them the strength to deal with this calamity, BKTC will perform special puja-archana in all the major temples under its control on Tuesday.
