Holiday in schools: After heavy rains in Punjab and Himachal, 13 schools in Block Nangal and Sri Anandpur Sahib of Ropar district have been flooded. After this, the district administration has declared holiday in the said schools on Monday.
These schools include Government Primary Schools Bhalladi, Nangraan, Khabra, Kheda Kamalot, Bhaini, Amarpur Bela, Brahmapur, Lower and Mahilawan as well as Government Middle Schools Mahilawan, Khanpur, Government High School Kulrian, Dasgarai and Government Senior School Sukhsal.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Chandigarh today. There may also be a thunderstorm in some areas. The sky is cloudy at this time. In the last 24 hours, the city has received 129.7 mm of rain. Which is the highest rainfall in a day this season. This has also brought down the temperature.
The Meteorological Department recorded the maximum temperature yesterday at 27.8 degrees Celsius. Which recorded a drop of 6.2 degrees Celsius in 24 hours and it was 5.7 degrees Celsius below normal. According to the data of the Meteorological Department, the temperature was recorded at 24.6 degrees Celsius at 5.30 am. The Meteorological Department has predicted good rain in Chandigarh and surrounding areas till August 15. A total of 455.8 mm of rain has been recorded in the city since June 1.
