Stampede in Siddheshwar Nath Temple: A major accident took place during the Sharani fair in Jehanabad, Bihar on the fourth Monday of Sawan. 7 crows have died in the stampede in Siddheshwarnath temple. More than 12 pilgrims have been injured in this accident. The incident happened around 1 o'clock on Sunday night. Due to it being the fourth Monday of Sawan, the crowd was very large. While climbing the hill, there was a stampede on the stairs again and again. After this, there was an atmosphere of chaos.
The devotees started running to save their lives and got buried. 7 devotees died in this. As soon as the information of the incident was received, the administrative team reached the spot and started relief and rescue work. Jehanabad DM Alankrita Pandey said, 'At least seven people died and nine were injured in the stampede. We are keeping an eye on everything and the situation is now under control.
After getting information about the incident, the police administration team reached the spot. Relief and rescue work was started immediately. Actually, in the month of Sawan, a huge crowd gathers to offer water at Baba Siddheshwar Nath temple. The crowd increases on Monday. In view of this, a crowd of people started arriving to offer water from Sunday night itself.
Regarding this matter, SDO Vikas Kumar said that he will talk about it officially after some time. Was there a lack of security? On this he said that there is more crowd on Sunday night. This was the fourth Monday after three Mondays. Seeing this, we became alert. This was done in the same way as civil, magistrate and medical teams are deployed. This is a sad incident. The family of the deceased says that about 50 people have died in this incident. This is what the devotees who came to visit are saying. People were acting arbitrarily. Due to which many people died in the stampede.
If the administration's vehicle had been there, lives could have been saved. There has been negligence. The incident happened between 11:30 and 12 pm. People are present in the hospital since 2 am. In Makhdoompur, it was said that post-mortem will be done immediately. The mother of a child has died. Four bodies are being sent by ambulance. Some bodies are being disposed of.
The relatives of the deceased said that these people were coming down and people were climbing from the other side too. Chaos spread. The administration resorted to excessive lathicharge. Due to which this incident happened. 35 people lost their lives.
