Heavy rains have caused havoc in Delhi. Now there are reports that 18 people have lost their lives due to drowning and electric shock in 2 months due to waterlogging caused by heavy rains, including three UPSC aspirants.
About 20 people have died in the last two months due to floods in Delhi. These deaths have occurred due to drowning and electric shock. At least children aged 3 to 10 years are also among the dead. According to reports, at least 11 people have died due to drowning in waterlogged areas, while 7 people have died due to lightning.
In a drowning incident due to heavy rains in Delhi, three UPSC aspirants Tania Sona, 25, Shreya Yadav, 25, and Naveen Delvin, 28, died after water entered the basement of RAU's IAS Study Circle in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. Most of the people who died due to electrocution were adults. The latest incident happened on Saturday when a 7-year-old boy drowned in a water-filled park in Delhi's Rohini. The incident happened when the boy went to play with his friend after heavy rains. Police said that necessary legal action has been taken in the matter.
