One such person is Nasiruddin of the Islami Chhatra Shibir cadre. He was behind bars for 26 years. 59-year-old Nasiruddin is called Shibir Nasir by the people of the cadre. He has been released from jail. Dhaka Tribune, a newspaper published from the capital, said that Senior Jail Superintendent of Chittagong Central Jail Muhammad Manjur Hussain confirmed that he was released from Chittagong Central Jail at 7 pm on Sunday. He said, “Two cases were pending against Nasiruddin. He was released after submitting bail documents for these cases to the court and reviewing them.”

According to the newspaper, there are 36 cases against Nasiruddin. These include the much talked about Principal Gopal Krishna Muhuri murder case, Hathajari triple murder case and Chittagong Polytechnic's Jamiluddin murder case. He was acquitted in 31 of these cases.

According to Dhaka Tribune, in the 1990s, Nasiruddin was a synonym of terror in Chittagong and an influential figure in the politics of Islami Chhatra Shibir. In 1997, he gave a tough time to the police in an encounter in the Chowk Bazar area of ​​Chittagong. In April 1998, the police arrested him from a hostel of Chittagong College.
