Purnia, 11 August (HS). It is the season of Sawan and drizzle of rain keeps passing through the city. In such a situation, on one hand people are continuously carrying Kanwar towards the court of Baba Bhole and on the other hand women are gathering together and enjoying the Sawan season.
Women enjoyed the month of Sawan under the supervision of Mrs. Mamta Jha, President of Mahila Manch, Jai Prakash Colony, Madhubani, Purnia. Wearing green dress code, women danced, swayed and sang. Badra chaaye re jhum ke hai re mach gayi jhum ke….ki aaya sawan jhum ke….and Sawan ka mahina pawan kare shor….jiyara re jhume aise manwa nache mor…everyone danced to the songs. Special dishes were also arranged on this special occasion. Women were very happy wearing green saris and green bangles.
On this occasion, member Mamta Jha highlighted the specialty of Sawan month and said that Sawan month has special importance in Hindu religion because Sawan month is the favorite month of Lord Shiva. Neetu Jha said that Lord Shiva is Mahadev, the God of Gods. By worshipping Shiva on Monday in Sawan, Shiva's blessings remain on the devotees and Sawan Monday fast is observed for happiness, prosperity and a happy life. Nisha Mishra said that Mahadev is also called Ashutosh, Ashutosh means one who gets happy or pleased immediately. Sheelu Singh said that by worshipping Shiva in Sawan month, there is no pain in life. Mamta Jha, Rani Jha, Vinita Jha, Neetu Jha, Nisha Mishra, Sheelu Singh, Anju Sinha, Madhu, Pooja, Sunita, Sanju and other women participated in the program.
