New Traffic Rules: If you have a two-wheeler and you travel from home to office and office to home on it daily, then this news is for you. Actually, a new rule is going to be implemented in Visakhapatnam, a big city in the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Now the person sitting behind while driving a scooter or bike will have to wear a helmet at all costs. Under the Motor Vehicle Act, it is mandatory to wear a helmet while traveling on the back of a scooter, but it is not followed in most parts of the country.

After the High Court order, it will now be mandatory for pillion riders to wear helmets in Visakhapatnam from September 1. This decision has been taken in view of the increasing road accidents in the city. Visakhapatnam District Collector, District Road Safety Committee Chairman Harendheera Prasad and City Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi recently held a meeting. He said that if you do not follow these rules, you may have to face troubles.

Visakhapatnam police says that a fine of Rs 1035 will be imposed on those who violate the rules. The license of those who break the rules can also be suspended for three months. Instructions were also given regarding the quality of helmets. It was told that only helmets with ISI mark should be worn, otherwise strict action will be taken. Let us tell you that in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, the rule of wearing helmets by pillion riders on scooters and bikes is strictly enforced. In many cities, a challan is issued to a driver driving a two-wheeler just for not wearing a helmet.
