Palamu, August 10 (HS). Under the aegis of Jharkhand State Secondary Teachers' Association, District Branch, Palamu, teachers and non-teaching staff of all categories of secondary and higher secondary schools of the district worked wearing black badges on Saturday to demand their various demands.

District president of the union, Satish Kumar Dubey, said that the main demands included promotion of teachers to the post of headmaster by amending departmental notification 355 on the basis of ACP-MACP seniority like other employees, stopping the orientation program being held in Adarsh Vidyalaya and CM School of Excellence and unnecessarily harassing teachers, and fulfilling the pending salary and other demands of newly appointed teachers.

It should be noted that in a big district like Palamu where there are 187 secondary and post secondary schools, only one school, the Government Plus Two High School, Haidernagar has a full time Principal, all the other schools are running on the basis of charge. The influence of the charge and the lack of a Principal has destroyed the education system, what kind of a house will it be if there is no caretaker? The same is the condition of the whole state. There are about 2677 schools in the whole state, out of which only 28 schools have bonafide Head Masters. Project Impact is not working here. No one is paying attention to this, all these things were protested against by the people.
