NHM workers went on hunger strike in front of CMO office

Jind, August 10 (HS). On the call of Sanjha Morcha, the National Health Mission employees of the Health Department remained on strike for the 16th day on Saturday. The hunger strike continued for the third day. The NHM employees staged a sit-in in front of the CMO office and raised slogans against the government. Five employees of the National Health Mission sat on hunger strike, including Dr. Vivek Gupta, Deepak Kumar, Naresh, Dr. Vijaypal, Dr. Mohan Vashisht.

The protest was presided over by Sunil Saini Referral Transport Operator while the stage was managed by Yogesh EMT and Naveen Badala. Media in-charge Sunil Saini presented patriotic Ragini Bhagat Singh and Mata Vidyavati's dialogue Teri Aankhya Mh Pani Aagaya, New Tanne Dekh Daroon Main, Sonia Dietician presented the song Ae Watan Mere Watan Azad Rahe Tu and Poonam, Sheetal, Sumit, Kamlesh, Bimla etc. presented patriotic and Saman related songs and also other employees Dr. Ajay Mor, Dr. Sandeep Sharma, Amit Ladwal, Sheetal, Naveen Badala, Dr. Amit, Bhavishya, Ganpat, Qurban, Dr. Renu, Narmada, Sunil Redhu, Praveen Kumar, Rohtash, Sunil Radhana, Sandeep Kundu, Kamlesh Bishnoi etc. expressed their views. Due to the strike of NHM employees, all health services were affected. Which included delivery work in labour room, care of newborn babies in nursery, KMC unit referral, non-availability of transport ambulance facility, birth-death department work, mental health, central medicine department work, health check-up work of children in field by School Health (RBSK) and RKSK team, NCD, NRC, TB department, AYUSH department, NHM office, PP centre, vaccination work, all CHOs and reporting etc.

Whereas NHM employees have been serving the health department for many years and have been doing their work with full dedication, honesty and integrity. They demanded that NHM employees be declared permanent employees. The benefits of the seventh pay scale should be given, there should be no tampering with the service rules. Benefits of cashless medical facility, LTC, gratuity and ex-gratia should be given. Employees should be given the benefits of EL, study leave, tuition fees as per the service. The SOP of CHO cadre should be implemented under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The bond system should be abolished, transfer facility should be given to NHM employees, salary for the strike period given by employees from the year 2017 to 2024 should be released and calculated in the service period.
