Nitin Gadkari warns Bhagwant Mann: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has written a letter and warned the Chief Minister of Punjab. He said that the law and order situation in the state is not good. If it is not fixed then NHAI will cancel eight highway projects. The Union Minister has written this warning letter in view of the violent incidents happening on the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway. The total cost of these eight projects is Rs 14288 crore.

Let us tell you that during the construction of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, violent incidents were seen at many places to stop the work. This expressway is being built from the capital Delhi to Mata Vaishnodevi Katra. At the same time, a part of it is also to be connected to Amritsar. Nitin Gadkari has expressed displeasure over the attack on engineers and contractors. In Ludhiana too, NHAI officials have been threatened to harm the staff working in the project.

Nitin Gadkari has also raised the issue of land acquisition in his letter. Apart from this, he has also sent pictures of the attack as evidence with this letter. The Union Minister said that the Chief Minister needs to pay attention directly. Meanwhile, it is requested that strict steps should be taken to improve law and order and FIR should be registered against the culprits and action should be taken so that such problems are not faced in future.

Nitin Gadkari had held a review meeting of the highway project a month ago and assured that law and order and land enforcement issues would be resolved. No steps were taken to improve law and order but the situation worsened. Due to pending land acquisition cases, contractors are targeted at many places. If this continues, there will be no option left except cancelling eight highway projects. NHAI has already canceled three highway projects due to lack of land.
