Jammu, August 9 (HS). Recently a 'Lecture on Women Empowerment' was organized in the remote village of Mastarandhra in Poonch district. The aim of the program was to spread awareness about self-employment among girls and women and enhance their skills for better employment opportunities.
The lecture focused on educating the locals about the various educational and scholarship schemes offered by the central and state governments. The event was organised by the Recruitment Army. It attempted to address the burning issue of unemployment by informing the attendees about the many initiatives available to improve their economic prospects.
An Army officer gave a detailed description of the government programmes designed to reduce unemployment. These include skill development programmes, job fairs and entrepreneurship opportunities through schemes like Integrated Rural Development Programme (IRDP) etc. The programme was warmly welcomed by the local community who expressed gratitude for the efforts of the Army.
