Jammu, August 9 (HS). Under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, a special tree plantation drive was organized at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Nardi Bala on Friday. 50 NCC cadets of 2nd Battalion NCC, 50 students and teachers of the school actively participated in this initiative organized to honor the spirit of environmental conservation.
More than 100 trees were successfully planted under this campaign. The campaign aims to plant 15 lakh trees across the country in collaboration with various organizations including DRDO, Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA), NCC, Sainik Schools and Ordnance Factories.
The tree plantation programme not only supported national environmental goals but also fostered a sense of responsibility and community involvement among the participants. The initiative emphasised the importance of collective effort required to conserve environment and tackle climate change. The successful execution of this campaign reflects the Indian Army's commitment towards environmental sustainability and its role in supporting national campaigns to build a greener, healthier future.
