Dumka, 9 August (HS). On the occasion of World Tribal Day, a grand district level program was organized at the Convention Center, Dumka. Deputy Commissioner Anjaneyulu Dodde, as the chief guest, inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. Before this, all the guests were honored by giving them a plant and tying a turban. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the people of the tribal community have been protecting forests, mountains and natural resources since ancient times.
Tribals have played an important role in protecting the environment and nature. The contribution of tribals in the freedom movement can never be forgotten. Be it the martyrdom of Dharti Aba, Birsa Munda or Veer Sido-Kanhu, Phoolo-Jhano or Tilka Manjhi. Today, on the occasion of World Tribal Day, we have to take a pledge that we should educate the coming generation as much as possible so that they can be aware of their rights. The government has many public welfare schemes for the development of the people of the tribal society, which the district administration is working to reach the last person of the society. Under the leadership of the Honorable Chief Minister, the government is working sensitively towards the tribals. We will see its pleasant effect in the coming days. Superintendent of Police Pitambar Singh Kherwar said that today World Tribal Day is being celebrated all over the world.
Tribal society has played a major role in preserving our heritage. They have always worked together to preserve tribal culture, awaken self-respect and to protect water, forests and land. He said that we must also make sure to participate in making our society free from drug abuse. All the men, women and youth of our society should pledge that they will definitely provide higher education to their children to keep our social system moving in the direction of development. Appealing to the youth, he said that education is very important for the development of society and whatever the goal is, try to achieve it.
