Dhanbad, 9 August (HS). On the occasion of World Tribal Day, many programs were organized in Dhanbad district. People from tribal community from many areas of the district participated in it. Hundreds of tribal women and men in traditional attire took out Shobha Yatra from the Zila Parishad ground of the city, which went to New Town Hall via Randhir Verma Chowk.
In the Shobha Yatra, men and women of the tribal society were seen dancing to the beats of the Mandar. All the people involved in the program were moving forward in natural costumes, traditional dance on drums and Mandar and with traditional bow and arrow, which was the center of attraction. Many people from the Santhal community were present on the occasion. During this, tribal and JMM leader Ramesh Tudu said that World Tribal Day is celebrated all over the world on this day. Tribals preserve water, forest and land. The tradition of the tribals is linked to water, forest and land. It is the tribals who are the reason that the forests are still preserved.
