Hazaribagh, 9 August (HS). Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Nancy Sahay said that every year on 9 August we celebrate World Tribal Day with great enthusiasm. This tradition has been going on since 1994. Today is not only a day to celebrate tribal rights but also a day to feel proud by highlighting the remarkable work done by tribals for the all-round development of the state and the country. On the occasion of World Tribal Day, the Deputy Commissioner was addressing the people present in the program organized under the joint aegis of Adivasi Central Sarna Samiti and District Welfare Office at the local Sarhul Maidan cum Sarna Sthal.
He said that as far as the rights of the tribal community are concerned, many works still need to be done. The central and state governments have implemented many public welfare schemes to protect the tribal culture, civilization and identity. Today, the rich tribal life philosophy is attracting the whole world. Tribal culture is full of sacrifice, skill and patriotism, the entire country including Jharkhand state is proud of tribalism. The Deputy Commissioner further said that two hostels of 300 beds each have been identified and approved for construction in the district for the study and stay of tribal students. Work is going on on many more schemes in future.
He said that the district administration will continue to cooperate in all possible aspects. Today, 16 tribal beneficiaries were benefited by the Deputy Commissioner under the Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme for Scheduled Tribes. In which two beneficiaries have been sanctioned Rs 10 lakh for rod cement shop, and the remaining 15 beneficiaries have been sanctioned vehicle loan of about Rs 2 crore.
