New Delhi, March 01 (Hindustan Reporter) Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has allowed Raghav Magunta, son of YSR Congress MP Magunta Reddy, to become an approver in the CBI-related case of Delhi Excise scam. Special judge MK Nagpal gave this order.
CBI, while filing its reply on the plea of Raghav Magunta to become a government witness, said that the petitioner has always cooperated in the investigation and has appeared whenever he has been summoned. The court noted that Magunta had made many revelations in this matter. Magunta has been granted anticipatory bail in this case.
Raghav Magunta was given permission by the court to become a government witness in the money laundering case on 3 October 2023. Apart from Magunta, the court had also allowed Dinesh Arora to become a government witness in the money laundering case. The court had forgiven him of his crime along with allowing him to become a government witness.
The heat of the excise scam has reached Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. ED has issued summons to Kejriwal 8 times but he has not appeared before the ED. ED had filed a petition in Rouse Avenue Court after Kejriwal did not appear on the summons. This matter is still pending. Apart from Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh are also accused in this case. Both Sisodia and Sanjay Singh are in judicial custody.
