Market breadth turns negative again: Funds sell small, mid-cap stocks: 2,083 stocks close negative

The market breadth turned negative again due to profit selling in small, mid cap, cash stocks. Out of total 4014 stocks traded on BSE, number of losers were 2083 and number of gainers were 1829.

Rail Vikas Nigam fell Rs 27.50 to Rs 538.35, Carborundum Universal fell Rs 63.65 to Rs 1544, Larsen & Toubro fell Rs 92.30 to Rs 3552.70, BHEL fell Rs 6.75 to Rs 297.85, Grindwell Northern fell Rs 41.55 to Rs 2390.15, Hindustan Aeronautics fell Rs 73.95 to Rs 4667.65. While Suzlon NG rose by Rs 3.38 to Rs 72.95, Bharat Forge rose by Rs 46.70 to Rs 1605.15, Teamcan rose by Rs 112.15 to Rs 4179.90, AIA Engineering rose by Rs 50 to Rs 4593.

Tata Motors gets Moody's upgrade, shares rise: HDFC, Bharti Airtel, ITC attracted

Tata Motors rating was upgraded by Moody's from BA3 to BA1 and this upgrade was driven by financial developments and positive outlook, the stock rose by Rs 16.10 to Rs 1041.35. HDFC Bank rose by Rs 17.20 to Rs 1642.10, Bharti Airtel rose by Rs 9.95 to Rs 1451.65, ITC rose by Rs 1.55 to Rs 494.05.

Net sale of shares by FPIs/FIIs Rs 2627 crore: Net purchase by DIIs Rs 577 crore

Foreign Portfolio Investors – FPIs, FIIs net sold shares worth Rs 2626.73 crore in cash today on Thursday. Total sales of Rs 18,117.40 crore were made against total purchases of Rs 15,490.67 crore. While DIIs-Domestic Institutional Investors net bought shares worth Rs 577.30 crore in cash today. Total sales of Rs 11,161.34 crore were made against total purchases of Rs 11,738.64 crore.
