So far 4404 people have applied for Happy Card in Gurugram. Out of this, Happy Card has been issued to 4044 people by Roadways. For this, Roadways has formed a separate team.

There is a news of relief for passengers traveling in buses. Now passengers will be able to get Happy Card issued by the Transport Department in Sohna, Pataudi and Farrukhnagar of Gurugram as well. For this, Roadways bus Employees who make Happy Cards have been appointed at the stand. These officers will take applications from people and people will be able to get their Happy Cards made from there.

This scheme of Haryana Roadways has provided great relief to the people of rural areas. The Haryana Happy Card project was launched by former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on 7 March 2024. To avail this facility, a smart card linked to the e-ticketing system is issued to the beneficiaries to travel free in Haryana Roadways buses. Through the card, beneficiaries can travel one thousand kilometers free every year. For this, the beneficiary has to apply to the Roadways Department. To ensure that people get maximum benefit of the Happy Card, teams have been formed by the Roadways at the sub-division level bus stands.

Photo ID will be valid: Roadways officials said that nowadays passengers travelling in roadways buses are giving their Happy Cards to each other while travelling in the buses. To stop this, now passengers will have to carry their identity card along with Happy Card while travelling in roadways buses. There are arguments between passengers and conductors regarding the identity card.

4404 people applied

So far 4404 people have applied for Happy Card in Gurugram district. Out of this, Happy Cards have been issued to 4044 people by Roadways. A separate team has been formed by Roadways to make Happy Cards. Now beneficiaries can get their Happy Card from Roadways bus stand as well as Sohna, Pataudi and Farrukhnagar bus stand. For this, people will have to apply first. After this the documents will be checked. The card will be issued only after finding eligible beneficiaries.

Pradeep Kumar, General Manager of Gurugram Roadways Depot, said, “Happy cards are being made at all places like Sohna, Farrukhnagar and Pataudi for the convenience of the beneficiaries. Beneficiaries can apply here and get their Happy Card from there. So far 4404 people have applied, out of which cards have been issued to 4044.”
