Visa-free countries: Indonesia is about to make your dream vacation even more possible. The Indonesian government has announced plans to offer free visas to travellers from India as well as 19 other countries in a bid to boost tourism and revive the economy.
Indonesia free entry visa
This exciting initiative, led by Indonesia’s Tourism Minister Sandiaga Uno, aims to finalise the free visa programme ahead of the government change in October 2024.
Indonesia is expected to see a surge in foreign tourist arrivals by eliminating visa hassles for travellers from India and other key tourism markets. This, in turn, is expected to boost domestic spending, attract foreign investment and accelerate the growth of the digital economy.
Focus on quality tourism
Before the pandemic, the average tourist in Indonesia spent around $900. However, recent trends have seen a significant increase, with each tourist spending an average of $1,600. Minister Uno believes the program will attract “quality tourists” – travelers who stay longer and contribute more to the local economy.
