Ranchi, 7 August (HS). The hearing on the bail of former minister and Congress MLA Alamgir Alam, accused of money laundering related to the tender scam, was held in the special court of Ranchi Prevention of Money Laundering Act on Wednesday. During this, the arguments on behalf of the defense i.e. Alamgir Alam have been completed. Now the arguments will be held on behalf of ED on 9th August.
Alamgir Alam was arrested by ED on May 15 after six hours of interrogation. ED has also questioned senior IAS officer of the state Manish Ranjan in this case. In this case, the agency has also arrested Alamgir Alam's OSD Sanjeev Lal and his associate Jahangir Alam. The agency recovered more than Rs 35 crore in cash from their hideout.
