Hooghly, 07 August (HS). A fight broke out between Kanwariyas and daily commuters on Tuesday night at Shewdafuli railway station of Howrah Burdwan Main branch of Eastern Railway. On Wednesday, Shewdafuli GRP station in-charge said that six people have been arrested in this case. Confirming the case, he said that as soon as the information was received, the GRP posted at the station swung into action and six people from both the sides were arrested from the spot.
According to the information received, while returning from Tarakeswar to Howrah, there was an argument between the Kanwariyas and the Nitya passengers over smoking. When the train reached Shevdafuli station, the matter escalated so much that the video of this incident on Nitya Wednesday at Shevdafuli station also went viral on social media in which a man with a stick in his hand and his companions are seen beating the Kanwariyas. It is seen in the video that the police is also trying hard to stop them. Some people are shouting “kill…kill…”.
