Mirzapur, 07 August (HS). The proposal sent by the district administration to install lightning conductors to control deaths due to lightning has got the green signal from the government. Lightning conductors will be installed at 80 places in the district at a cost of Rs 48 lakh.
In the hilly and plateau regions of the district, 20 to 25 people lose their lives every year due to lightning during the rainy season. To control such incidents, a proposal was sent to the government by the Disaster Management Department a year ago to install lightning conductors at 30 places in the district.
Disaster expert Ankur Gupta said that the proposal to install lightning-powered equipment has been approved. 43 lakh rupees have also been received for this.
