Jalaun, 01 March (Hindustan Reporter). Due to love affair, two youths shot dead the girl student. If the culprits are found guilty in this case, District Judge Lallu Singh has sentenced them to life imprisonment. Also a fine of Rs 5 lakh 20 thousand has been imposed.
Giving information on Friday, government advocate Lakhan Lal Niranjan said that on April 17, 2023, Sheelam, a resident of village Aidha village of Kotra police station area, lodged a complaint with the police. He told that his younger sister Roshni was returning with her brother Srichandra after giving her BA second year paper at Ramlakhan Degree College. She had reached a distance of 100 meters from the Kotra bridge, when two people riding a motorcycle shot Roshni and fled from the spot.
After receiving the information, the family members reached the spot and took Roshni to the district hospital, where the doctors declared her dead. Roshni had recognized Raj alias Ashish, resident of Jamrehi village of Kadaura police station area. The second person could not be identified and died during treatment.
The police had started investigation by registering a report against Raj alias Ashish and an unknown person under other sections including murder. Police arrested the accused Raj alias Ashish on April 18.
The accused had admitted that he had met Roshni four years ago at his aunt's house. Both of them fell in love and wanted to marry each other. But the family members wanted Roshni to get married somewhere else. For this reason, he along with his fellow Hamirpur resident Rohit alias Govinda had carried out the incident. Police caught Rohit alias Govinda. Taking action, both the accused were sent to jail. The charge sheet was filed before the court on May 12.
After nine months, the trial in the court of District Judge Lallu Singh ended on Friday, in which the accused were sentenced to life imprisonment on the basis of the arguments of the lawyers of both the parties, statements of witnesses and evidence.
