Naxalites carrying a bounty of Rs 2 lakh each surrendered

Sukma, 6 August (HS). Security forces have achieved a major success in Naxal-affected Sukma district. Two Maoists including a woman surrendered before police and CRPF officials on Tuesday. The government had announced a reward of Rs 2 lakh each on both the Naxalites.

Both Naxalites were active in the Naxal organization for many years and have been involved in many incidents. The surrendered female Naxalite Urmila alias Somdi Madkam, father late Handa, husband Dinesh, carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh, was a party member of Platoon No. 02 in KB Division Bhoramdev Area. While the surrendered Naxalite Madkam Sona, father Masa (36 years), resident of Pulanpad police station Chintalnar district Sukma, with a reward of Rs 2 lakh, was a party member of Platoon No. 01 under KBN Division. They surrendered without weapons in front of CRPF Commandant Harvinder Singh, CRPF 241 Battalion Second Command Officer Sanjay Kumar, ASP Naxal Ops Nikhil Rakhecha at the Superintendent of Police office Sukma on Tuesday.
