Judicial custody of six accused in Parliament security breach case extended till March 11

New Delhi, March 01 (Hindustan Reporter) Delhi's Patiala House Court has extended the judicial custody of six accused in the Parliament security breach case till March 11. Additional Sessions Judge Hardeep Kaur gave this order.

During the hearing today, accused Neelam Azad told the court that she is changing her lawyer Suresh Chaudhary, while the remaining five accused told that they also want to have their own lawyer. Today the judicial custody of all the accused was ending, after which they were produced in the court. On January 31, the court had extended the judicial custody of all the accused till today. On January 5 itself, the court had ordered polygraph, narco and brain mapping of the accused. Delhi Police has filed charges against these accused under Section 16A of UAPA.

Earlier, on December 21, 2023, the Patiala House Court had ordered the Special Cell of Delhi Police to provide a copy of the FIR to Neelam's family within 24 hours. Delhi Police has challenged this order of Patiala House Court in the High Court. On December 22, 2023, the High Court had stayed the order of the Patiala House Court.
