Raipur, 6 August (HS). 'State level transgender cultural evening' Sanjh-6 was organized late on Monday night at the Muktakashi stage of Mahant Ghasidas Museum in the capital Raipur. Chhattisgarh is the only state where the state government provides a stage to promote cultural activities of the transgender community.
This program was organized under the joint aegis of the Department of Culture and Archeology and Chhattisgarh Mitwa Sankalp Samiti. The chief guest of this program was MLA Purandar Mishra and the Director of Archeology and Culture Department Vivek Acharya was present as the special guest. Along with this, Assistant Director, Culture and Archeology Department Tanuja Baghel, Chief of Chhattisgarh Kinnar Samaj Nagina Nayak as special guest, Sunita Chansoria, Assistant Professor Durga Mahavidyalaya and Pritam Mahanand, MP representative were present as special guests.
In the program Sanjh-6, artists from the third gender community gave their colorful presentations. After lighting the lamp, the first solo presentation was done by Meera Yadav through Odissi dance. The first group presentation was done by Pratima Group with Rajasthani dance. After this, the artists of Swaragini Group also made people dance by presenting Rajasthani and Chhattisgarh Sua Geet, Karma Geet, Dadriya and Holi songs. As the third presentation, Yuvraj Badh and his friends from Raipur presented Shiv Vandana in Kathak. Along with this, they won the hearts of the people with their style in Kathak Tihai, Paran and Thumri. It is worth mentioning that Yuvraj Badh has received Gurratna Award, Madhupuram Award, Madhupuram Samman, Guru Brahm Award and Nritya Maya Award in the field of Kathak dance.
Pratima Dance Group presented a musical dance drama related to the evil practice of dowry prevalent in the society. A message against the dowry system was given through this dance drama, which was presented in a very attractive manner. Many artists of the community presented semi-classical dance in solo genre. Artists of Churki Murki Dance Group of Pithora Mahasamund won the hearts of all the listeners with their styles. In the second phase of the program, transgender youth did a fashion show on the ramp. These were the students of Garima Griha situated in Sarona. They modeled on rap on Chhattisgarhi, Indian theme and Indraghnushi theme.
During the fashion show and dance, the audience encouraged the people of the community. In the program, all the artists were honored by the senior people of the community by giving them coconut, sal and a memento. At the end of the program, the President of Chhattisgarh Mitwa Sankalp Samiti, Vidya Rajput thanked the artists, audience and the Department of Culture and Archeology, Queergarh Group, Walk in Talk Food Corner, Anant Pravah Kathak Center, with whose cooperation this program could be completed.
