During its campaign against corruption, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered a corruption case against SHO Bhadson Police Station, District Patiala, Sub-Inspector (SI) Inderjit Singh and his colleague Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Amarjit Singh for taking a bribe of Rs 50,000.
Giving more information in this regard, the spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said here today that the case has been registered after investigation of the online complaint filed by complainant Harman Singh on the Chief Minister's Anti-Corruption Action Line against the two policemen.
He further said that the complainant has alleged in his complaint that a case was registered against him and others in Bhadson police station and in this case the said SHO and ASI had taken a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from the accused in exchange for help. He further said that after the settlement between both the parties, now both the police officers have registered the said FIR. They are demanding another bribe of Rs. 35,000 from the complainant to cancel it.
The spokesperson further said that during the investigation the allegations made in the said complaint were found to be true and the allegations of demanding Rs 35000 extra and accepting a bribe of Rs 50000 were proved. He further said that on the basis of this investigation a case has been registered against the said SHO and ASI under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Vigilance Bureau Police Station Patiala Range and further investigation of the case is going on.
