More than 250 devotees stranded, 6 SDRF teams sent for rescue

A team of six SDRF personnel has been sent to safely evacuate more than 250 devotees stranded in Kedarnath Dham from Lincholi to Bhimbli. From where the passengers will be airlifted to Sonprayag. For this, Army's M-17 and Chinook helicopters have been deployed. On Monday, as soon as the weather cleared in Kedar Valley, air lift rescue has started with MI 17 and Chinook.

MI will drop the passengers at Chardham helipad while Chinook will land at Gauchar airstrip. By 9 am, 133 people have been safely airlifted from Kedarnath with the help of MI, Chinook and other small helicopters. The rescue operation will continue till all the people are evacuated.

Heavy rains continue to wreak havoc in Uttarakhand

Eight people have died and about six people have been injured due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand. Kedarnath Yatra has been stopped due to road washout due to heavy rains.
