Alia's acting in Student of the Year is commendable

Mumbai: Alia Bhatt's father Mahesh Bhatt himself has criticized that her acting in her debut film 'Student of the Year' was like a statue.

Mahesh Bhatt said in a media interview that it is true that as Alia's career progressed, her acting got better, but in her first film, she was just like a statue.

Other cast members of the film included Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. The film was produced by Karan Johar.

However, Mahesh Bhatt praised Alia's acting in films like 'Udta Punjab', 'Highway' and 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'.

He said that with time Alia has learned to choose the right films.
