Red alert for heavy rains in five states including Gujarat, know the weather department's forecast

The death toll due to cloudburst in three districts of Himachal Pradesh has reached 13. Two more bodies have been recovered in Rajban of Mandi.

Heavy rain predicted in five states
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan Pradesh, Goa and Central Maharashtra. Department scientist Dr. Naresh Kumar said that a low pressure area has formed in north-eastern Madhya Pradesh. A low pressure area has formed over south-west Rajasthan. Due to which heavy rains are occurring in these states. There is a possibility of heavy rains in Kerala, coastal Karnataka and Tamil Nadu in the coming days. The water level of two rivers has increased in Jharkhand's East Singhbhum district.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that so far 17,000 people stranded in the disaster-affected areas of the state have been evacuated to safer places. More than 370 people, including pilgrims and locals stranded on the Kedarnath Yatra route, were evacuated and airlifted to Lincholi. Officials said that 570 passengers are still stranded in Kedarnath and have been evacuated by helicopter. 110 pilgrims are also stranded on the Rambada-Chaumasi walking route. Along with NDRF and SDRF, the help of Air Force's Chinook and MI17 helicopters is also being taken in relief and rescue operations.
