Ranchi, August 4 (HS). Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Rai has joined JDU. Sanjay Jha got him the party membership in Delhi. He has joined JDU before the Jharkhand assembly elections. After not getting a ticket from BJP in the 2019 assembly elections, Saryu Rai showed rebellious attitude and contested as an independent and defeated former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghuvar Das from Jamshedpur East.
Sanjay Jha said that Saryu Rai has had a personal relationship with JDU national president and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the last several decades. Saryu Rai's joining the party will strengthen the party in Jharkhand.
On this occasion, Bihar government minister and JDU's Jharkhand state in-charge Ashok Choudhary, Shravan Kumar, JDU's Jharkhand state president Khiru Mahato, Bihar Legislative Councilor Sanjay Gandhi and state general secretary Manish Kumar were present.
