Ranchi, August 4 (HS). Flood-like situation has been created in different parts of West Bengal due to heavy rains these days. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also discussed this matter with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Especially, the flood situation in Bengal has been discussed due to the water being released from Tenughat (Bokaro).

On this, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on social media (x) on Sunday that he respects Didi but he cannot accept her belief that the Jharkhand government is responsible for the floods in West Bengal. Both the governments should work together to reduce the difficulties of the people. Every year, the water coming from Arunachal and Bhutan hills causes floods in Assam. However, we do not blame the Arunachal government or the Royal Bhutan government. Because, we understand that water has no boundaries and it flows down naturally.

It is noteworthy that West Bengal CM Mamata has said through Twitter that the flood situation in Bengal has arisen due to the sudden release of large amounts of water from Tenughat. This is not a natural but a man-made crisis. In this regard, she has also spoken to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. She has asked the DMs of South and North Bengal to be alert about the flood situation. She herself is also keeping an eye on all these situations.
