Etawah, 04 August (HS). Jaswantnagar police station in Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh has arrested four notorious drug smugglers while patrolling the area. Police has recovered 760 grams of hashish and an illegal pistol and a live cartridge from the arrested smugglers. The arrested smugglers bring hashish from Bihar at cheap rates and smuggle it to Etawah and other districts.
Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Verma said that Jaswantnagar police station was patrolling the area last night, during which four suspicious persons were seen coming from near Siddharth Mahavidyalaya. These smugglers started running after seeing the police, on which the police team used necessary force and detained four persons.
During police interrogation, the four youths revealed their names as Abhishek alias Banjara son of Ashok Kanjad, Akela son of Arvind alias Kariya, Gurudev son of Devendra and Sumit alias Lakha son of Ashok Kanjad. During the search of the four persons, the police recovered 760 grams of hashish, one illegal pistol of 315 bore and one live cartridge from a bag. The arrested youths said that we buy hashish at cheap rates from Bihar and sell it at high prices in Etawah and nearby districts.
