On the third Monday of Sawan, the traders of Vishwanath Gali will perform Jalabhishek of Kashi Vishwanath

Varanasi, 04 August (HS). On the third Monday of the month of Sawan, the businessmen of Vishwanath Gali will perform Jalabhishek at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Darbar. Under the banner of Vishwanath Gali Businessmen Association, the businessmen will gather at Chittaranjan Park in Dashashwamedh. The businessmen will take out a procession from here under the leadership of Mahant Shankar Puri Maharaj of Annapurna Temple and former state minister and MLA of City South Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari. The procession will reach Kashi Vishwanath Dham from Singhdwar via Vishwanath Gali with the sound of drums and blowing of conches. Here the businessmen will perform Jalabhishek of Baba's holy Jyotirling along with the guests.

According to the media in-charge of the Businessmen Association, in the past years before this, Baba was anointed with the water from 12 rivers and three oceans from different parts of the country, which included Maa Ganga, Yamuna, Saraswati (Triveni Sangam), Kaveri, Tapti, Brahmaputra, Alaknanda, Varuna, Godavari, Kshipra, Sindh, Krishna, Narmada as well as three oceans Mahanad (Gangasagar), Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean.
