Gandhinagar, August 4 (HS). Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel interacted with about 18 CM Fellows youth selected for the Sardar Patel Good Governance CM Fellowship Program on Sunday. These youth of CM Fellowship attended the program organized at the Chief Minister's residence in Gandhinagar on Sunday to seek guidance and exchange their experiences with the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Patel said that you have got a great opportunity to use the knowledge and skills acquired during your practice for the welfare of social life and the common man. This opportunity will not only be beneficial for you, but will also prove useful for crores of people in the future policy making and program implementation of the government and in social life. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has developed a governance spirit with the goal of welfare of the common man, the poor and the deprived through the tradition of good governance. This program has been started to utilize the energy of innovative ideas of bright and energetic youth in the administrative system to realize this.
Patel motivated these youth by saying that Gujarat has a great environment and there is also openness for you to work in the form of fellowship. There is no problem of funding in implementing schemes or taking new initiatives. You bring the best ideas and suggestions. The government will consider them properly. He said that such new ideas will ultimately prove beneficial for the welfare of crores of citizens of the state. The Chief Minister suggested that a review meeting should be held with these young fellows every three months and they should keep getting guidance and the government should also keep getting their suggestions.
In the program, Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, Chief Secretary Raj Kumar and Additional Chief Secretaries to the Chief Minister Pankaj Joshi and Manoj Kumar Das also discussed openly with the fellow youth. Secretary to the Chief Minister Avantika Singh gave detailed information about CM Fellowship and introduced the Chief Minister's Fellowship Youth. Principal Secretary (Administrative Reforms and Training Division-ARTD) of General Administration Department (GAD) M. Shahid, Deputy Director General of SPIPA Vijay Khardi and senior officers were present in this meeting.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Patel had announced the Sardar Patel Good Governance CM Fellowship Program on Sardar Patel's birth anniversary on 31 October last year. 18 youths have been selected for this program on the basis of merit for one year. These selected youths have completed their initial training at Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA) and are now working in various departments of the state government for implementation of public welfare projects, studies, data analysis and innovation. The state government has added the world-renowned management institute Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) as an academic partner in this program.
