Fatehpur, 04 August (HS). On Sunday, a grocery shopkeeper troubled by the loan of a moneylender committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree. Police reached the spot after getting the information and sent the body for post-mortem.
Rakesh Yadav (45), a resident of Khesahan village in Ghazipur police station area, had opened a small grocery shop near his house. This was the source of his family's income. Rakesh was sleeping next to his brother Samarjit. Meanwhile, Rakesh got up and left at dawn. When he did not return home for a long time in the morning, his family members began looking for him. Meanwhile, Rakesh's body was found hanging from a noose made of a towel on a mango tree in a field outside the village. As soon as the family members reached the spot after getting the information, they were filled with grief after seeing the body.
The deceased's brother Samarjit Singh said that last year Rakesh had borrowed 15 thousand rupees from a moneylender. In return for this loan, the moneylender had made a bill of 70 thousand rupees including interest and had put pressure on Rakesh to recover it. In return, the brother had also given his pet buffalo to the moneylender. Also, he was mentally stressed due to the loan of the moneylender.
SHO Vinod Mishra said that in the initial investigation, it has not come to light that the incident happened due to debt. The body has been sent for postmortem. The matter is being investigated.
