Jhunjhunu, August 3 (HS). The Jhunjhunu POCSO court has sentenced the accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment in the case of rape of a 12-year-old minor girl. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh.
According to the case, accused Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Agwana Khurd of Surajgarh police station area, on 10 January 2021, lured the victim over the phone and called her to a secluded place. After that, he took her to Ajmer in a truck. From there, he raped the victim in the truck at a secluded place 15-20 km away. When the girl protested, he threatened to kill her. After this, the police caught the accused in Rajsamand.
In this regard, a report was given to the police station by the victim's family. The police registered a case, arrested the accused Pradeep Kumar and presented the challan in the POCSO court. After hearing both the sides, the judge sentenced the accused Pradeep to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of one lakh rupees. Special Public Prosecutor Omprakash Saini had pleaded on behalf of the state government.
