Dehradun, 03 August (HS). After Haldwani and Srinagar Medical College, the state government has now approved the appointment of three faculty of various faculties and two medical officers in the Government Doon Medical College. This will accelerate the study-related activities of the students. Along with this, patients will also benefit from this.
The state government is continuously making efforts to overcome the shortage of faculty in the state's government medical colleges. Under this, the state government has approved the appointment of three assistant professors and two medical officers in the Government Doon Medical College against the vacant posts in various faculties. This includes Dr. Rajesh Kumar Maurya on the post of Assistant Professor under the Department of Anatomy, Dr. Gunjan Vishnoi in Anesthesiology and Dr. Shailaja Nimeshwari in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Similarly, Dr. Manish Kumar and Dr. Risha Bharti are included for the post of Medical Officer in Burn Unit. All the candidates have been selected through walk-in-interview by the interview committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor of Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University. The selected candidates have been appointed in the medical college on contract basis. The selected faculty and medical officers have been appointed for three years or till regular appointment on the said posts, whichever is earlier. The appointment of medical faculty and medical officers will give impetus to the educational programs of Doon Medical College and also the patients will be able to get better treatment in the affiliated hospital.
Earlier, the government appointed a dozen faculties in Haldwani Medical College and four medical faculties and two casualty medical officers in Srinagar Medical College.
In order to improve the educational activities in government medical colleges, Medical Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat has approved the appointment of faculty members in Doon Medical College as well. This will definitely benefit the medical students as well as the patients visiting the hospital.
