Shimla, 3 August (HS). The state government has started efforts to resettle Samej village of Shimla district which was devastated due to cloudburst. Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh on Saturday inspected the flood affected Samej village adjacent to Rampur in Shimla district and met the affected and victims.

Vikramaditya Singh said that two valley bridges will be installed in Samej village. For this, valley bridge material has been ordered from Shimla. Valley bridges will become operational in a few days so that local people can have access to transportation facilities.

He said that additional machinery is being deployed here so that the search and rescue operation can be further intensified. Instructions have been given to the concerned department in this regard.

Vikramaditya Singh said that this tragedy is shocking. We are fully standing with the people. The state government is providing all possible help. A search operation is underway to find the missing people in this accident. But due to heavy debris, many challenges are being faced in the search operation. He said that a search operation is being conducted in an area of ​​85 kilometers. Members of NDRF, SDRF, Army, Para Military Force, Police, Home Guard, Fire Department are engaged in the rescue operation.

He said that Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, during his visit to Samej yesterday, had announced immediate relief of Rs. 50,000 to the disaster affected people and Rs. 5,000 for renting a house, for which he thanked the Chief Minister. Apart from this, he also urged the Central Government to provide generous financial assistance to Himachal Pradesh to deal with the disaster.

Let us tell you that many houses, primary school, dispensary and power project of Samej village were washed away due to the flood caused by cloudburst on the midnight of 31st July. 36 people went missing in this accident. Many school children are also included in this. Rescue teams have been searching for the missing people for the last three days.
