Rajkot News: Five years ago, an 8-year-old innocent girl was forcibly raped after being called to a house in Popatpara area of ​​Rajkot. Hearing the case, the court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment till he lives naturally.

According to the facts of this case, a person named Shamji Maganbhai Mansuria, living in Popatpara area of ​​Rajkot, called an innocent 8-year-old girl to his house between 12:30 and 1:00 pm on 24/7/2019. Later, he closed the door of the room and forcefully raped the girl and committed an act against nature. He threatened to kill her if she informed anyone about this. The victim's mother has lodged a complaint in the women's police station.

On the basis of the complaint, the police arrested the accused and sent him to jail. Finding sufficient evidence against the accused, the investigating officer filed a chargesheet in the POCSO court. After the chargesheet, the testimony of the complainant, victim, doctor, witnesses and investigating officer was taken. Then the public prosecutor said that despite the victim being 8 years old, the accused lured her to his house and raped her, which is a shameful crime for the society. Therefore, it was argued to punish the accused as per the provisions of the law.

After hearing of both the parties, Session Judge J.D. Suthar of the POCSO court took into consideration the testimony, medical evidence and arguments of the public prosecutor engaged for the government as well as the decisions of the High Court cited and ordered the accused Shamji Mansuria to be sentenced to life imprisonment till his natural life. Public Prosecutor Binalben Ashokbhai Raveshia appeared on behalf of the government in this case.
