Cooperatives in Punjab: Opposition leader Pratap Singh Bajwa has criticized the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government for neglecting cooperative institutions. Senior Congress leader Bajwa said that cooperative institutions of Punjab, including cooperative banks, sugar mills and milk plants, are facing the negligent behavior of the AAP government in Punjab. Due to this factor, these institutions are on the verge of collapse.

He said Punjab's milk product brand Verka owned by Punjab State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation Ltd is losing its hold in Punjab while Amul is taking over the milk business in the state. This is happening due to the lax attitude of the AAP government which has miserably failed to come forward to save Verka. Bajwa said Verka's market in the state is going down rapidly.

The opposition leader said that other cooperative institutions are also facing the apathy of the Punjab government. Widespread corruption in the cooperative sector is a major reason for its downfall. Cooperatives are the backbone of the agriculture sector. Bajwa said that if these institutions collapse, the agriculture sector, which is already facing a huge crisis, will suffer a major setback.

Bajwa said that Aam Aadmi Party The government should pay special attention to the cooperatives and make sincere efforts to keep them flourishing instead of making tall claims about the performance of the government.
