Actor Arjun Rampal spoke about the breakdown of his first marriage with Meher Jessia in an interview.

Divorce is not easy for anyone. It is a very difficult time especially for children. Arjun said that after divorce you feel freedom for some time but then you feel lonely. You miss home.

Arjun also revealed that his ex-wife Mehr and his two daughters have a good bonding with his girlfriend Gabriella. On the question of not getting married despite a long relationship with Gabriella and being the father of two children, Arjun said, 'We are married but from the heart.' Marriage is just a piece of paper. You are legally bound to someone, which can change your attitude towards each other. Arjun and Mehr announced their separation in May 2018. Their marriage lasted for 20 years. They got married in 1998, after which 2 daughters were born. After divorce, Arjun is in a relationship with South African model and actress Gabriella Demetriades. They also have two sons.
