Bhopal, August 3 (HS). In connection with World Breastfeeding Week, a breastfeeding awareness and nutrition counselling programme has been organised at Civil Hospital Dr. Kailashnath Katju on Saturday, August 3, from 1:00 pm today. Senior pediatrician Professor Dr. Sheela Bhambal and senior nutritionist Dr. Amita Singh will provide counselling in the programme. Awareness and counselling sessions are being organised in all the health institutions of the district during the breastfeeding week. In these sessions, pregnant and lactating women are being informed about breastfeeding and nutrition.
In this sequence, information will be shared by experts related to breastfeeding and nutrition at Katju Hospital, which is run as a dedicated health and child health service. This year this week is being celebrated on the theme of Closing the Gap, Breastfeeding Support for All.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Bhopal Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari informed that during the upcoming period of 7th August, various awareness activities are being organized to dispel the misconceptions about the benefits of breastfeeding and breastfeeding. Health institutions are providing advice on the method of breastfeeding, its benefits to mother and child and nutritional diet.
