In Rajya Sabha today, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan responded to the discussion related to his ministry. The Agriculture Minister said that the agriculture budget in 2013-14 was Rs 27,663 crore which has been increased to Rs 1,32,470 crore in 2024-25. If food subsidy and animal husbandry are added, this budget will be Rs 1.75 lakh crore for the agriculture-related economy.
He said that Congress's priorities regarding agriculture have always been wrong. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have worked to change the priorities. We have six priorities for agriculture. He said that anti-farmer sentiment is in the DNA of Congress and this has been there since the beginning, not just today.
In the Rajya Sabha today, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav put forth his views on the bullet train project during the Question Hour. After the lunch break, a private resolution regarding NEET was also discussed in the Rajya Sabha under non-official business.
