Iran-backed Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah launched a major attack on Israel to avenge the death of its commander. It fired 70 rockets one after the other on Israel. This attack took place in Israel's western Galilee. Hezbollah has also issued an official statement regarding the attack. Hezbollah said that it carried out rocket attacks on Israeli military bases in response to the “attack targeting Chama and the martyrdom of many civilians.”
Israel intercepted 15 rockets
Meanwhile, Lebanese military sources told the news agency that the Lebanese army fired about 70 rockets at Israel in two separate batches and some of them were intercepted by Israel's Iron Dome missile defense system.
Israel kills top Hezbollah commander
The attack comes amid heightened tensions between Hezbollah and Israel following an Israeli strike on Beirut's southern suburb of Dahieh on Tuesday that killed top Hezbollah military commander Fouad Shokor. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah threatened to respond to the Israeli attack at an appropriate time and place.
On the other hand, Israel's army bombed an apartment block in Gaza City, killing an unknown number of people. Palestine Red Crescent Society sources said several bodies were pulled out from the rubble of the apartment, which belonged to the Abu Hashem family and was located on Al-Jalaa Street in Gaza City.
