Varanasi, 02 August (HS). On Friday, on the occasion of Sawan Shivratri, Namami Gange members raised awareness about environmental protection at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham by giving the message that protecting the environment is everyone's moral responsibility. The message given to the devotees present at the Dham was that to achieve the goal of a healthy India, citizens will have to take a pledge of cleanliness. Cleanliness should be made a part of the lifestyle. Cloth bags were distributed among the devotees.

Through placards giving the message of environmental protection, convener Rajesh Shukla told that environment is our invaluable treasure. If we are aware, then only we will keep it away from harmful elements that pollute the environment. Problems like climate change, global warming, unseasonal rains and floods are arising as a result of the ill effects of the environment. Rajesh Shukla said that there is balance in the world due to equality between man and nature. The universe can run smoothly only when there is harmony between man and nature. This is the meaning of Shivling, the symbol of Shiva and Shakti. Shiva is the symbol of man, while Mother Parvati is of nature. If there is no balance between man and nature, then no work of the universe can be completed well. Through Shivling, Lord Shiva is giving the message of environmental protection.
