Cashless Treatment Plan: Every year in the country, lakhs of people die due to lack of timely treatment in road accidents. The Supreme Court showed seriousness in this matter and ordered the government to make a new policy to help people in road accidents. Information about which was given in the Lok Sabha. According to which a plan has been prepared to provide cashless treatment to road accident victims. This pilot project has started as a trial in Chandigarh and Assam.
Treatment will be given for seven days
Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, while answering a question asked in the Lok Sabha, said that under the scheme, 50 thousand rupees will be given to the victims. Trauma and prolitrauma care treatment up to 1.5 lakh will be provided.
The scheme was implemented in collaboration with NHA
The ministry has formulated a scheme to provide cashless treatment to the victims of road accidents caused by the use of motor vehicles on any category of road under the Motor Vehicles Accident Fund under Section 164 (B) of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988. Get timely treatment in road accidents. The sources of revenue and its use are covered under the Central Motor Vehicles Act, 2022. The scheme is implemented under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in coordination with NHA, local police, empanelled hospitals, State Health Agency, National Center for Education Sciences and Equal Insurance Council.
