Leave In Intel: American chip manufacturer Intel made a big announcement on Thursday, saying that we are preparing to lay off 15 percent of our total employees with the aim of streamlining our company's operations. Intel currently employs 1,24,000 employees. After the company's latest announcement, the jobs of about 18000 employees are now in danger.
The company said – there is a need to reduce costs
Regarding its layoff plan, Intel said that we are planning to cut our company's expenses by about $20 billion this year. In the recent quarter, the company has suffered a loss of about $1.6 billion.
What did the CEO of the company say?
The company's CEO Pat Gelsinger issued a statement in this regard and said that our performance in the second quarter was also poor. However, we still achieved many milestones in our core products and technologies.
The company dropped a big plan in June itself
Giving information on this matter, Chief Financial Officer David Ginsner said that we are taking active steps to improve profitability and strengthen the balance sheet by reducing the company's costs. Loss-making Intel announced in June that it was shelving plans to expand operations at a major factory in Israel.
