Jaipur, 29 February (Hindustan Reporter). Education Minister Madan Dilawar said that only through cultured education will we become better citizens.
Dilawar was addressing a seminar based on 'Life Skills Empowered Education' organized in a private hotel on Thursday. He said that cultured and strong education will improve life and the thoughts of advanced citizens will also be better, due to which the family, society and country will become stronger. He stressed that there should be no difference between our words and actions.
He said that discipline and respect for parents and teachers are very important in the life of students. To become a good person, marks are not important but life values are important. Parents should also not expect more from their children than they can handle. He said that happiness in life is not related to resources but to contentment. He said that in the new education policy, emphasis has been laid on culture-based education along with employment. The goal of the new education policy is the overall development of the student which can be made possible through the development of literacy, numeracy, reasoning, problem solving, moral, social and emotional values. It is specifically recommended to make life skills a part of the curriculum. The objective of this policy is to equip students with 21st century life skills. These skills include teamwork, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
On this occasion, Government Secretary Education Naveen Jain said that there is a need to provide more instructional days to the students for study. Students should choose the subject keeping in mind their interest and circumstances. Students should have a feeling of gratitude towards their family members and teachers. He talked about making the new generation capable of differentiating between information and knowledge and bringing social awareness among the students. Jan Kalyan Portal is said to be useful for everyone to get information about various welfare schemes of the government.
During the panel discussion in the seminar, State Project Director and Commissioner Rajasthan School Education Council Avichal Chaturvedi said that education of life skills is necessary to live life with confidence in the 21st century. There is pressure on students to prepare for competitive examinations at an early age. Director Secondary Education Ashish Modi said that the education curriculum in the state has been digitized. He described the role of teachers as important in the changing scenario. Director RSCERT Kavita Pathak said that books on life skills are also being prepared.
Saurabh Johri of Piramal Foundation explained in detail about life skills training during the panel discussion. Anshu Dubey, Vyjayanti Shankar, Arjun and Deputy Director Kamalendra Ranaut also expressed their views.
On this occasion, 'Rajasthan Life Skill Assessment Report-2023' and 'Amulya' posters were released by the guests. During this, the Education Minister and Education Secretary answered various questions asked by the students with ease. Giving information about the changes in their lives due to social, emotional and moral education, the students said that mobile helps in diverting attention, controlling anger, getting rid of the fear of exams and helping in concentrating.
